There is a lot of cross over between the Standard and Deluxe Plus’, so to prevent from being redundant, I am not going to share all there similarities, but rather their differences. To get the full scoop on the Strat Plus series, such as all the colors they came in, types of roller nuts, tuners, necks, wiring, etc, please click on this link about the Stratocaster Plus. Now here is the odd thing about the very first Version 1 Deluxe Plus. Oddly enough, some of the first Deluxe Strat Plus’ also came with a split Wilkinson nut long after Fender stopped using them on the Standard Plus’ which were already using the full Wilkinson nut. Many of the Version 1 Plus DXs also had Sperzel tuners while the Standard Plus at this time used pretty much only Schaller tuners , and even weirder was the fact that many came with an E4, serial number even though they were introduced in ! Fender also used the E8 or E9 serial number as well at this same time. Why would Fender do that? It was like they were starting all over again as they did with the Standard Plus in ! Maybe using up old parts and serial number decals?

The body is made of highly flamed maple, absolutely gorgeous. And most of all, there is a detail we have never encountered on a Country Club: The sound post connects top and back, giving the guitar a greater rigidity, to avoid feedback problems when played really loud. No heavy dings, no heavy wear. The binding deterioration, so common on ’60 Gretsches, was becoming a real problem on the guitar’s body, since it just could not be stopped in any way.
Aug 08, · This explains why the pickups are wound with late ‘70s coil wire. You can be assured that this guitar is an ALL ORIGINAL late ‘60s Fender Stratocaster, except for the pickup rewind, which was done by Leo Fender himself, and accordingly adds another five grand to the price.
The first Fender solidbody model, the Esquire , lasted in name only from June to October This model name was replaced by the “Broadcaster”, which lasted in name only from the October to January All Broadcasters have truss rods, where many Esquires often have no truss rod. In Gretsch had trademarked the name “BroadKaster” for a line of drums. After advertising the Broadcaster in music trade papers in February 20, , Gretsch took notice and sent Fender a telegram asking them to change their name.
Therefore Fender was forced to drop the name Broadcaster. Starting around February 22, , Fender cut the word “Broadcaster” off of their headstock decals. These models February to summer are known as “NoCasters”. Starting in the summer of , Fender adopted the name “Telecaster” for this model, and started using new decals after all the old clipped decals were used.

This means that the the serial numbers starting in ran consecutively on both the MIJ and the CIJ models while the MIJ logo was being phased out. Mid– the CIJ logo was the only one used on Fender guitars coming out of Japan (with exception the Squire series).
The plain truth is that; most Japanese guitar manufacturers were “contract houses” that made guitars to the specifications of the “trading companies” Japanese middlemen that took orders from the American companies that were importing them such as C. This resulted in a wide variety of qualities in guitars shipped by most of the “contract houses”.
What this means is that; Ibanez Fuji Gen-Gakki , as well as Aria Matsumoku , and to a lesser extent Tokai Kasuga , made both very high quality, and very low budget guitars, and various qualities between, depending on what was ordered by the trading company for the importer they represented. Often, the companies bought their parts from the same contractors.
So, similar or identical parts may be seen on guitars built in different factories. Just because two guitars have similar parts or even construction, does not necessarily mean they were manufactured in the same factory, or even by the same company. Something Different about Ventura Guitars A label inside the soundhole of some Ventura acoustic guitars states: Or any other Japanese made guitars for that matter. I had many custom built Schecters similar to the one you are describing. Schecter started out in making replacement pickups, necks, bodies, and other guitar parts specifically for Fender guitars. Later, they got into making custom made guitars and also making parts for assembly using combinations of parts they offered for sale separately, depending on what pickup configuration and other options one might request. The company had some management problems that lead them to sell off the name Schecter to a firm from Texas.
